Mysterious Superhero on Bike Saves Paint-Covered Kitten from Dumpster
He was a lot like Clark Kent on a bike, wearing a collared shirt and tie, and holding a rescued kitten that was covered in paint.
The cat’s new foster mom, Wendy Hall-Devoti, tells KRQE News that she was sitting at an Albuquerque restaurant on Saturday when the superhero good Samaritan rode up on his bike.
“Apparently when he was riding by on his bicycle, he heard a kitten mewing really loudly from a dumpster and he jumped in and he found this kitten and all the other kittens were dead,” she said. “He picked her up and got paint all over his clothes and was trying to find somebody to help.”
Now named Teal, in honor of the paint shade, Hall took the paint-covered kitten, went to get help, and didn’t have time to reconnect with the superhero kitten rescuer afterward. Now she wants to thank him for helping the kitty survive.
“Now we don’t know what happened to him and it was such a good thing to do,” Hall-Devoti told KRQE. “You know when you’re on your way somewhere and you stop to save a kitten in a dumpster.”
Hall-Devoti hopes she can eventually shine the spotlight on the kitten’s hero for doing the right thing.
“We just started wondering what if he was going to a job interview and he didn’t get the job because he saved this kitten,” she said. “Or what if his boss didn’t believe this big tough guy jumped in to save a kitten and he just came to work all covered in paint and he just lost his job.”
